ECT Explained

The electrical current passing into the tumour causes ph levels to change within the cancerous cells, leading to a build up of hydrochloric acid which destroys the cell membrane. The process also generates heat-shock proteins around cancer cells, which triggers the production of natural killer cells.
The ECT therapy works on the basis of triggering changes within the tumour, that causes it to literally destroy itself, without using harmful radiation or drugs such as chemotherapy.
The whole process is computer controlled and monitored. The patient can relax throughout the therapy session, whilst listening to music if they wish. Most patients only experience a very slight warm tingling sensation during treatment.
